120 miles today!

5/12/2014

We had a pretty good night in the Cherry Point anchorage and got up early to start our longest day of the trip so far, other than the gulf crossing.  We enjoyed a nice sunrise and smooth water for a few hours, and then the seas started to build just a bit.  The waves were on our stern and we had a small current at our back so it was not too bad.

We saw a couple big cargo ships and a barge as we kept plugging along.  We mad about 10mph average for the day running about 1800rpm.  We don't normally run that hard but we were trying to make it all the way north of the Chesapeake Bay bridge near Anapolis MD.

The anchorage was nice and quiet after the boat load of wake boarders went home.  We did have two brief thunder storms but not too much wind with them, so no problems holding.
