Crossed Albermarle Sound and most of the Dismal Swamp 65 miles

Last night we anchored out behind the Aligator river in a nice cove behind the Aligator river bridge.  It was a LONG way back into the spot, but worth it.  We didn't see another boat the entire night.

No black bears, no gators, no FISH, that last part stinks!  We got an early start before sunrise so we could try and get across the Albermarle Sound before it picked up any more than it already was.  Well, not sure if that plan really worked out?  We had some rollers on the port side for about an hour.  Nobody liked it!  We had to tie down the table, because it started sliding all over the deck.

Once we got inside the small bay toward Elizibeth City things improved a great deal.  The rest of the day was very nice, even though the wind was blowing pretty good.

We were going to stop at the visitors center dock. But there was already a power cat and a sailboat there and two other sailboats behind us that we're going to stop.  And, the sailboat who was already there had his dingy behind his boat in the water and between the two of them there was not a lot of room for us.  We didn't really want to raft up with the crowd and the traffic noise from the road was noticeable, we went on down about 5 miles to a small dock.
