Background Info

I think the blog app I'm using is working, but not sure, and it sure seemed slow to show up on on the web.

Here is a map of the different routes that are available to complete a circumnavigation of the eastern part of the US.

We started out in Muscatine, Iowa back in September of 2012.  At the time, we didn't know for sure we were going to try and complete the entire loop.  At that point, we were simply taking a two week vacation and moving the boat out of the cold weather of Iowa to someplace further south.  We ended up in Florence, Alabama on the Tennessee river, after spending a lot of nice days on Kentucky Lake and Bay Springs.

While the boat sat for the winter in Alabama we decided to finish the loop.  So, in November of 2013, we rented a mini van and hauled a bunch of stuff we thought we needed from Iowa to the boat.  A few days of readying the boat for the journey and we left the Florence harbor marina and headed south.

I will try to add several more posts to include some of the photos and info describing the trip from Alabama to Florida and up the east coast, until I catch up with our current location.

Stay tuned!

Jim
