Lock 6, Frankford to Lock 12 Campbellford

It was another beautiful morning!  It was a little over 6 miles to the next lock, so we left Franford early so we would have time to look around and Jim could do some fishing at lock 7 before it opened at 9 am.

The route is lined with cottages and there were quite a few fishing boats out this morning but we didn't see anyone catching anything.

Jennifer admired the landscaping around this home.

The first Canadian catch...

Better results washing windows than fishing.

Rocky ledge and wild flowers coming out of lock 7.

Approaching the flight of locks at Campbellford.  The Ranney Falls suspension bridge is on the right.

The flight of locks; Lock 11 is on the bottom and 12 is at the top.  We entered 11 and went up 24 ft then they open the bottom gate to 12 where we pull forward and went up another 24 ft.

Tied up on the lock wall at the top of lock 12 in Campbellford.  We decided to stay here rather than at the town dock as it is a short walk to the suspension bridge. There is a nice trail that runs the length of the river through town so it was an easy walk down to the Canadian Tire store where we had some shopping to do.
