We ran in the rain from Kerr Bay to the anchorage at Sandy Cove near Belleville. The wind wasn't bad and the temperature and visiblity were good enough that traveling was fine. Had to get the windshield wiper out (Jennifer with the squeegee) a few times but the weather cleared before we set anchor. We spent a nice afternoon catching up on a few chores. We were anchored near a park and had hoped to take the dogs ashore but the wind came up and it wasn't worth the effort of getting the dinghy down and rowing over. The area is agricultural and reminds us of Door Co.Wisconsin....Very nice. The wind died down early in th evening but picked up later. We pulled up the anchor just before dark and repositioned to try and get a little more protection from the wind. Can't say that it helped much because the wind died off after we went to bed and it was a very quiet evening.
Lots of aquatic "grass" in this area. I think mud is easier to get off than the long stringy salad that came up with the rode this morning.
It was an easy, short cruise from Sandy Cove to Trenton, Gateway to the Trent - Severn Waterway in the morning.
We stayed at Frazier Park Marina. Craig was extremely helpful answering all our questions. The waterfront has very nice little parks and a paved trail running along the river. It was so nice, we stayed 2 nights. At this time of the year, the locks operate from 10 - 4 during the week and extend hours starting on Fridays to 9 - 5 for the weekends.
