North Channel

Killarney - Sunday, June 29. We left Mill Lake early and traveled the rest of Collins Inlet to the open water crossing to Killarney before the wind picked up.  The pine trees were blooming while we were in Georgian Bay and covered the boat in a fine yellow dust.  We hadn't been getting as much on the boat the last few days but we've been seeing huge trails off it in the water.  The heaviest we'd seen was by Killarney.  Stopped in Killarney and had breakfast and picked up a few groceries before heading on to Baie Fine to anchorage in the Pool.

Pine pollen on the water

The landscape changed to taller hills and limestone ( or is it quartz?)
Baie Fine

We  cruised back through Bai Fine and anchored in the "pool", the small bay at the end of the fine bay. There were just a few boats in the pool so we had plenty of room to find a place to anchor. A small storm moved in late in the afternoon but we were in a protected spot and didn't get much wind.

Sunrise in the Pool

The attraction at this location is Lake Topaz known for its torquoise colored water.  It's about a 20 min. uphill hike from the north shore of the pool.  We kayaked over to the shore Monday afternoon after it had dried out from a morning shower.  Should have taken the mosquito repellant. We made it to the lake and there were some kids diving off the cliffs.  Pretty place didn't stay long.

We had read reports of a big turtle in the Pool and saw him later in the afternoon.
